Expression of wgScer\UAS.cLb in embryos after posterior spiracle specification, using Scer\GAL4ems.HRE, results in stigmatophores that are reduced in size and filzkorpers that do not elongate properly. Expression of this transgene with Scer\GAL4salm-459.2 causes stronger defects in stigmatophore size and filzkorper elongation.
Embryos expressing one copy of wgScer\UAS.cLb under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 have completely naked cuticles.
When driven by Scer\GAL4C-765 the anterior postalar bristles and the anterior and posterior supraalar bristles are eliminated, other bristles sometimes differentiate in abnormal positions.
When expressed from Scer\GAL4Ubx.PdC, over-proliferation occurs for clones in the hinge region though not in the wing pouch.
Overexpression of wgScer\UAS.cLb by Scer\GAL4da.G32 has no effect on the cuticle phenotype of double mutants of fz21 or fz23 with Df(3L)fz2.
