FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
A viable ogreunspecified allele shows severe disruption of the developing and imaginal optic lobes but are otherwise essentially morphologically normal. Lethal ogreunspecified alleles have severe disruption of the developing and imaginal optic lobes, and other disruptions in the postembryonic central nervous system (CNS). The effective lethal phase is at the larval/pupal boundary. The foci for the optic lobe phenotype are within the optic lobe progenitors, and the foci for lethality may be in the CNS progenitors.
