Detailed Description

D.melanogaster flies carrying Daff\Adh+tAA1 in an Adh- background show a decreasing survival rate on medium supplemented with increasing concentrations of ethanol, with an average survival rate of 40% on medium supplemented with 9% ethanol. These flies show a strong preference for oviposition on ethanol-containing medium, as do D.melanogaster flies carrying Adh+tS in an Adh- background.

Assayed in D.melanogaster. FLPase induced excision of w+mC and Adh+tS leaves Daff\Adh+tAA1 flanked by an Scer\FRT site on one side and a P1\loxP on the other. Exists in clones, not reported as being germ-line transmitted.
