Detailed Description
Statement

Clones in the medial scutum and prescutum expressing dppαTub84B.PG make only microchaetae. Clones within and lateral to the dorsocentral meridian expressing dppαTub84B.PG are associated with many extra macrochaetae, which are formed both within and around the clones.

Clones expressing dppαTub84B.PG give rise to extra bristles in the notum, except in the scutellum.

Clones cause mirror-image duplication of the vaginal plates. Clones also cause duplication of the male anal and lateral plates.

Comments

Expression of dppαTub84B.PG in clones in the male terminalia in a dppd5/dppd12 background results in the recovery of terminal structures. The degree of recovery depends on the developmental stage at which the clone is induced. Recovery of terminal structures is accompanied by reduced penis apparatus duplications. The rescue is non-autonomous.
