Expression of Acp70AScer\UAS.cNa, under the control of Scer\GAL49Y or Scer\GAL4C370 markedly stimulates the virgin feeding rate. Copulation does not further increase the feeding rate.

Scer\GAL4C357 and Scer\GAL455B-mediated expression causes only a slight drop in female receptivity whereas ovulation is very low. Scer\GAL4C420-mediated expression causes moderate but female receptivity but minimal ovulation. Scer\GAL429BD, Scer\GAL4C370, Scer\GAL4C502b, Scer\GAL4156Y, Scer\GAL419Y, Scer\GAL49Y and Scer\GAL47B-mediated expression allows no female receptivity but stimulated very high levels of ovulation.
