When cnoScer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4HLHmδ ommatidial rotation defects are seen.
Expression of cnoScer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.2sev disrupts rhabdomere development. Photoreceptor cells with rhabdomeres split in two parts and laterally expanded rhabdomeres are seen. Photoreceptor cells are lost in some ommatidia.
Scer\GAL4hs.2sev-mediated expression results in the absence of R7 photoreceptors or outer photoreceptors in a fraction of ommatidia. Supernumerary cone cells are formed. The rest of the ommatidia appear normal.
