Detailed Description

Males and females exhibit missegregation of the sex chromosomes. During early meiosis I bivalent structure is abnormal and precocious separation of sister chromatids is seen in secondary spermatocytes. Segregation defects appear to be arising from inadequate cohesion. Hemizygous females exhibit reduced fertility, few male progeny do show evidence of a crossover event (meiotic recombination). Mutation does not interfere with ord4 activity: does not show negative complementation.
