No sequence data is available for the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09414 line. The P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09414 insertion line was designated an allele of snRNA:U4:39B in FlyBase based on its failure to complement the lethality of the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09410 insertion line. However, since the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09410 insertion maps within both snRNA:U4:39B and Atg18b (nested genes), it is unclear to which transcription unit the lethality maps. It is therefore unknown whether the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09414 insertion line causes an allele of snRNA:U4:39B or Atg18b or both. Alleles of both genes have been made in FlyBase for the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09414 insertion line until more information is known.
FlyBase curator comment: the P{lacW}snRNA:U4:39Bk09414 insertion results in homozygous lethality, but it is unclear whether the lethality is due to an effect on snRNA:U4:39B or CG8678 (or both) (see FBrf0105495).

This allele was listed in the BDGP database as a lethal or sterile line during the period 1994-1999, but was discarded from the gene disruption project prior to the summary publication (FBrf0111489). Reasons for excluding lines from the collection described in FBrf0111489 include presence of more than one P insertion on the mutant chromosome, separation of lethality (or sterility) from the location of the insertion, and loss of lethality (or sterility) from the stock. Further information is available from http://www.fruitfly.org/bfd/ and from Dr. Spradling (spradling@mail1.ciwemb.edu).
