Animals expressing EcRB1.hs have defects in the mushroom body α/β lobes: the lobes may appear slim.

Expression of EcRB1.hs using heat shock results in germaria that are filled with supernumerary germline cells containing a single spectrosome in females. After 7 days of heat shock treatment, 84% of germaria contain dumbbell-shaped fusomes.

Heat induced expression of EcRB1.hs (using a single heat shock for 45 minutes at 37oC) results in more than 50% lethality if the heat shock is started between 5 hours before puparium formation to 0.5 hours after puparium formation.

Expression of EcRB1.hs in embryos does not result in a dorsal open phenotype.
