Fly hearts expressing Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4>Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS show end-diastolic dimensions similar to wild-type. Histological analysis of cardiac chambers from adult transgenic flies show heart wall thickness that is similar to that of controls. The number of cardiomyocytes in the transgenic hearts is also similar to that of wild-type.

Expression of Ras85DV12.S35.Scer\UAS in the midgut, under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 does not induce midgut cell proliferation.

Ectopic expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4esg-NP7397 in adult midgut progenitor cells during larval development has little effect on their proliferation.

Expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH early in the entire eye does not cause any tissue overgrowth or increase in organ size.

Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4elav-C155 animals are viable, and do not exhibit brain degeneration.

When Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4HLHmδ ommatidial misrotations are seen in the eye. When Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev ommatidial misrotations are seen in the eye.

The distribution and morphology of macrochaetae and microchaetae is normal in animals expressing Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU.

Expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a rough eye phenotype.

Caspase activation in cells posterior to the furrow in eye discs is completely suppressed by Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. There is no accompanying increase in the levels of photoreceptor differentiation at this stage, but there is an increase in mitosis during the second mitotic wave (G2 to M progression, posterior to the furrow). The number of cells displaying caspase activation in pupal eye discs at 30 hours after puparium formation, is also significantly reduced in these animals, accompanied by significantly increased photoreceptor differentiation.

Expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4C380 increases the number of type I synaptic boutons compared to wild-type controls. This increase is indistinguishable from the increase in bouton number observed in flies where Ras85DScer\UAS.cKa expression is driven by Scer\GAL4C380.

Expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in wing disc cells results in an increase in cell size and an increase in clone area compared to controls. The proportion of cells in G1 is decreased compared to controls. Clones expressing Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP are not visibly round, do not generate ectopic folds and do not bulge out of the epithelium.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev a rough eye phenotype results.

Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1-mediated expression causes little, if any, hyperplastic growth in third instar wing discs. Mutants survive to adulthood and have minor differentiation defects (mild rough eyes and extra wing vein material).

Co-expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS dramatically enhances the loss of bristle phenotype caused by expression of RalaS25N.cMa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU.

The loss of bristle phenotype seen in flies co-expressing Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS and RalaS25N.cMa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU is largely suppressed by co-expression of Rgl1.Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\CAAX.

Co-expression of RalaS25N.cMa.Scer\UAS enhances the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

The rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is enhanced in Rglunspecified homozygotes.

Co-expression of Rgl1FL.Scer\UAS has no effect on the rough eye phenotype caused by expression of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

The enhancement effect of Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS on cnkhs.sev.T:Zzzz\FLAG contrasts sharply with the lack of enhancement of cnkhs.sev.T:Zzzz\FLAG by Ras85DV12.S35.Scer\UAS or Ras85DV12.C40.Scer\UAS. When Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS is expressed from Scer\GAL4hs.2sev in combination with cnkNterm.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG or cnkPDZmut.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG the enhancement to the roughening phenotype is extreme, whereas when expressed in combination with cnkSAMmut.hs.sev.T:Zzzz\FLAG the roughening is only slightly enhanced.

When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev, has no effect on the WGMR.PG eye phenotype.

Ras85DV12.G37.Scer\UAS Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 and rlSem act synergistically to produce a small amount of hyperplastic growth in third instar wing discs. Mutants die as pharate adults at 25oC and have deletions of tarsal segments and extra wing vein material along L3.
