Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Homozygotes are viable as late as the pharate adult stage. sv7/Df(4)G animals show embryonic lethality. Most homozygotes die before the wandering larva stage, with the remaining few dying as pharate adults which have profound bristle defects over the entire body surface. The bristle phenotypes closely resemble those of sv6 homozygotes. The microchaetae of the notum often have empty sockets. Macrochaetae also occasionally show a double socket phenotype. Occasionally, macrochaetae have odd shaft-like structures with no apparent socket. A mild roughening of the eye due to fusion of the ommatidia, and occasional scarring of the lens is seen. Interacts very weakly with svspa-pol.
