FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
Weak phenotype similar to sim mutants: connectives are collapsed and reduced but appear less compacted at the level of the commissures. Midline glial cells are specified normally. Stage 9 embryos show conspicuous ventral folding. Some midline cells appear to be missing or displaced ventrally.
