mei-41A2 mutants have a reduced frequency of single-strand annealing repair (SSA) compared to controls in a P{wIw.FRT} hemizygous assay to study DNA double-stranded break repair when assayed at 38oC.
Hemizygous male larvae are sensitive to methyl methanesulfonate (MMS). Sensitivity to MMS is recessive at 0.075% MMS and shows a strong semidominant effect at 0.125% MMS. Only 8.0% of eggs laid by homozygous females develop into adults that eclose.
