      A dorsal closure defect is seen in embryos derived from Df(1)H6 germline clones (which creates two mutations hepH6 and licH6), but not from Df(1)H6; hepUbi-p63E.PG (which rescues the hepH6 but not the licH6 phenotype) germline clones. About 30% 0f eggs derived from Df(1)H6; licUbi-p63E.PS germline clones are unfertilised, (compared to 80% from Df(1)H6 alone). The segmentation and ventralisation defects seen in Df(1)H6 embryos are also not seen.
