      A dorsal closure defect is seen in embryos derived from Df(1)G24 germline clones (which creates two mutations hepG24 and licG24), but not from Df(1)G24; hepUbi-p63E.PG (which rescues the hepG24 but not the licG24 phenotype) germline clones. About 30% of eggs derived from Df(1)G24; licUbi-p63E.PS germline clones are unfertilised, (compared to 80% from Df(1)G24 alone). The segmentation and ventralisation defects seen in Df(1)G24 embryos are also not seen.
