      Larval neuroblasts of homozygotes show severe mitotic abnormalities, such as a significant level of aneuploidy, metaphases with a high degree of chromosome condensation and a complete absence of typical anaphases. The arrested metaphases seem to be associated with apparently normal bipolar spindles.
