Most mutant embryos fail in pronuclear fusion. In the few embryos that do develop, the spindles are often highly disorganised.
Adult males are morphologically normal except for a weak rough eye phenotype and a few missing bristles.
Asters of microtubules are not detected in mutant embryos expressing taccTD.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Sjap\GST under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 in a mspsMJ15 background. The embryos do not develop, but the male and female pronuclei seem to be in a mitotic state, with spindle-like structures organised around the condensed chromosomes.
Selected as: a w- chromosome.
