Heatshocked induced ubiquitous expression of Mmus\Emx2hs.PH in ems2 null mutants leads to substantial restoration of brain morphology. In a quarter of cases the cellular gap and the longitudinal ganglion are restored, However projection defects are not rescued. Overexpression in ems mutants perturb axiogenesis in the ventral nerve cord (VNC), the axon scaffold was deranged in these animals, and in many cases the anterior and posterior commissures are fused and the longitudinal connectives are disrupted. Also supernumerary eve expressing cells are seen in the VNC.
