Scer\GAL4Ubx.PdC, tshScer\UAS.cGCa somatic clones survive to adulthood and differentiate normal distal leg structures.
Clones in the wing disc expressing tshScer\UAS.cGCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Ubx.PdC tend to be round, suggesting that they sort out from surrounding wild-type cells. Clones in the wing hinge are of normal size. Most clones fail to differentiate properly, although vesicles of differentiated tissue (derived from the clones) are frequently seen in adult wings. In some cases the pattern differentiated by these clones can be identified as proximal hinge structures. The dorsal wing compartment differentiates hinge structures in flies expressing tshScer\UAS.cGCa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 or Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, especially sclerites and proximal costal elements.
