As a result, intron splicing fails, causing a premature stop codon to be encoded after amino acid 514 (just N terminal to the predicted transmembrane region). The premature stop codon truncates the protein by 58% of its length.

Shows strong "tail flipping" phenotype and mild distal larval sluggishness. Shows no defects, such as rough eyes or reduced imaginal tissue, associated with mitosis. Axonal membrane bound cargoes and motors accumulate within the segmental nerves.
