Description

An Hsp83 promoter drives expression of a deleted form of the lncRNA:roX1 c20 cDNA, which lacks nucleotides corresponding to 3291-3345 of accession number AB051842. A 450bp PstI fragment containing polyadenylation signals from tra2 is also present.

Hsp83 promoter sequences drive expression of a mutant form of the lncRNA:roX1 c20 cDNA which lacks the 30bp region of similarity between lncRNA:roX1 and lncRNA:roX2 (nucleotides 3308 to 3337).

      roX1ex6 Df(1)52/Y males carrying P{w+4Δ4.3} generally do not survive to adulthood. This lethality is substantially rescued by an autosomal copy of roX1Δ30.Hsp83.
