      Overexpression of cnohs.PM using heat shock during pupal development (30 minute 35oC heat shock at approximately 50 hours after puparium formation, followed by 2 hours at 25oC, followed by a second 30 minute 35oC heat shock) disrupts rhabdomere development. Small bulges are formed on the main rhabdomeres, giving the appearance of extra rhabdomeres in tangential sections which appear and disappear several times in successive sections.
