Description

Imprecise excision of the P{GawB} element. Scer\GAL4 sequences are still present but are altered compared with prosV1. w sequences are not detected. A 2.9kb BamHI-PstI fragment ("pBSK") from the 3' end of the element is not detected. Surrounding genomic sequences are unaffected.

      The median lifespan for prosV13 animals (the age after egg laying at which 50% of homozygotes have died) is 9.99 days at 25oC.

      Homozygous second instar larvae show normal or nearly normal responses to 0.1M sucrose and to 0.3M NaCl in a taste response assay.

      The courtship index of heterozygous males towards decapitated Canton-S males is not significantly different from that of wild-type males towards decapitated Canton-S males. Homozygotes show high mortality during the first 2 days of adult life. Homozygous males are infertile, probably due to weakness.
