Shows a reduction is positive phototaxis at 1 week after eclosion.
Mutant show no obvious disorganisation of the retinal projection pattern. The terminals of the axons of photoreceptors R7 and R8 in the medulla appear slightly expanded in size compared to wild type.
Mutant adults show essentially no positive phototaxis, although the phototactic profile improves slightly in the mutant flies between 3 and 10 days after eclosion.
Induced on: ca1
Identification: by reduction in/loss of Gycα99B protein on a Western Blot. In terms of immunoreactivity on a Western Blot (most to least) Gycα99B2 < Gycα99B1 = Gycα99B3 = Gycα99B5.
