When dsf^Scer\UAS.cPa is driven by Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PI, Scer\GAL4^Dll-md23 or Scer\GAL4^h-1J3 an embryonic lethal phenotype is seen. When driven by Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu animals die as embryos or first instar larvae. When dsf^Scer\UAS.cPa is driven by Scer\GAL4^Alk.6.5, animals die as wandering 3rd instar larvae, or as prepupae or pupae. Only the anterior half of the adult develops in the pupal case. When dsf^Scer\UAS.cPa is driven by Scer\GAL4^dpp.blk1, Some pupal lethality is seen. Adults lack aristae and exhibit a variable distal leg phenotype including some loss of tarsal segments. Mutants also have crumpled wings, cleft nota and posterior expansion of the eye field. When dsf^Scer\UAS.cPa is driven by Scer\GAL4^GMR.PF, some animals die as pharate adults. Loss of eye pigment and eye bristles are seen. They eye surface is rough, and necrosis is sometimes seen.
