      Microbe-depleted adults expressing PGRP-LCa.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS exhibit more enteroendocrine cells and fewer lipid droplets in the adult anterior midgut.

      Expression of PGRP-LCa.Scer\UAS in the fat body under the control of Scer\GAL4Cg.PA results in increased midgut hyperplasia compared to controls. This increase in hyperplasia is not observed when the flies are maintained in axenic conditions.
