Acute thermogenetic activation (using TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa at 29[o]C) of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS cells results in a slight but significant decrease in total sleep amount (particularly during the 12hr dark phases), compared to controls. Acute thermogenetic activation of these neurons does not result in a significant increase of food consumption (tested in a FLIC assay), compared to controls.
