Activation of Tdc-positive neurons by expressing TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC in virgin females at the permissive temperature induces post-mating behaviors. These include reduced levels of copulation within one hour, increased rejection behaviors (ovipositor extrusion) and increased egg laying.
Single vdaB class IV dendritic arborization neuron cells expressing TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PU at 30[o]C show a dorsal shift in the position of their presynaptic terminals compared to controls. The topography of the presynaptic terminals of v'ada class IV da neurons is unaffected if they express TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PU as single cell clones at 30[o]C.
Expression of TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF at 29[o]C eliminates the difference in LN(v) dendrite length that is normally seen in constant darkness versus constant light conditions in wild-type larvae.
Overexpression of TrpA1Scer\UAS.cUa in class I dendritic arborization neurons (under the control of Scer\GAL421-7) confers allyl isothiocyanate sensitivity but not a response to light on these neurons.
