      Overexpression of gcm2Scer\UAS.cAa, under the control of Scer\GAL4lz-gal4 inhibits crystal cell formation.

      Expression of gcm2Scer\UAS.cAa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 in embryos results in an increase in the number of glial cells (as assessed by repo staining), many of which show the elongated or irregular cell shapes typical of glial cells.
