Drives expression in proneural clusters and sensory mother cells.

During late larval and prepupal wing development, sca is expressed in a stripe adjacent to the anterior-posterior (A/P) compartment boundary on the anterior side (primordia of the L3 vein) and two stripes bracketing the entire presumptive margin.

Expression is observed in proneural clusters in the wing disc.
