Amino acid replacement: M161K.

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutated form of CkIIα, that carries the same mutations as the CkIIαTik allele.

Amino acid replacement: E165D.

Detailed Description

Expression of CkIIαScer\UAS.Tik under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 does not perturb the eye and leads to subtle, yet reproducible, defects in interommatidial bristle patterning.

Expression of CkIIαScer\UAS.Tik under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.3.5.Exel results in a rough eye and defective interommatidial bristle patterning when flies are raised at 29oC, but not when flies are raised at 24oC.

Expression of CkIIαScer\UAS.Tik under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 leads to the formation of extra bristles on the scutellum.

The loss of the scutellar macrochaetes and interommatidial bristles resulting from expression of E(spl)m8-HLHScer\UAS.cUa with Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 is suppressed by co-expression of CkIIαScer\UAS.Tik.

Expression of CkIIαScer\UAS.Tik mediated by Scer\GAL4h-H10 suppresses the Nspl-1/Y rough and reduced eye.
