UAS sequences drive expression of Hsap\APLP2.
Expression of Hsap\APLP2Scer\UAS.cMa driven along the anterior/posterior compartment boundary in third instar larval wing discs by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 leads to increased cell death in this region, along with a loss of anterior crossvein phenotype in adult fly wings, compared to controls. Expression of Hsap\APLP2Scer\UAS.cMa driven by Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 leads to cell death in the wing pouch of third instar larvae and produces a small blistered wing phenotype in adults. Expression of Hsap\APLP2Scer\UAS.cMa driven by Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 leads to a small scutellum phenotype in flies, compared to controls.
When Hsap\APLP2Scer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4ap-md544 The fate of the pIIb daughters cells in the mechanosensory organ is changed to socket and shaft cells instead of the sheath and neuron as in wild-type - thus each sensory organ precursor produces 2 shafts and two sockets. Patches of naked cuticle are also seen. When Hsap\APLP2Scer\UAS.cMa is driven by Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 all of the sensory organ precursor grandchild cells take the socket fate. Patches of naked cuticle are also seen.
