The number of dendritic endpoints of dorsal dendritic arborisation neurons is increased compared to controls in larvae expressing Nak^Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4^109(2)80.

Embryos expressing Nak^Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4^sca-537.4 show transformation of neurons to sheath cells in the chordotonal organs. Overexpression of Nak^Scer\UAS.cCa under the control of Scer\GAL4^sca-537.4 in adult sensory organs produces cell fate transformations in the bristles of the head, notum and wing margin. The mutant bristles sometimes contain two hairs and two sockets, or sometimes contain two sockets but no hair. Other phenotypes are characterised by four sockets, or one hair and three sockets. Neurons are missing under these mutant bristles.
