Overexpression of TomScer\UAS.cLa in neuroblasts under the control of Scer\GAL4insc-Mz1407 leads to a complete depletion of type II neuroblasts.

Embryos expressing TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 have an increased number of "Ap" neurons in the NB5-6T lineage.

Expression of TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 post-embryonically (animals are transferred to 28[o]C after embryogenesis to inactivate Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B which is present in the stock) results in a strong neurogenic phenotype with an excess of bristles.

In TomScer\UAS.cLa ; Scer\GAL4neur-P72 animals have extra sensory organ precursors and neurons are specified at the expense of other cell-yypes in the sensory organ lineage.

No effect on the specification of wing margin cells or wing pouch growth is seen in TomScer\UAS.cLa animals carrying Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, Scer\GAL4dpp.PS or Scer\GAL4Ser.PGF.

Expression of TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 results in a high percentage of lethality at late pupal/pharate adult stages. Adult escapers show strong tufting of nearly all macrochaetae and microchaetae, especially on the legs.

Flies expressing TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF have strongly roughened eyes with defects that include tufting of interommatidial bristles and excess photoreceptors.

Expression of TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 or Scer\GAL469B does not appear to alter wing vein fates or the overall integrity of the wing margin, although sensory organ fates in each of these territories are altered.

Expression of TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4insc.PU in Df(3R)ED5296/+ embryos results in a significant increase in the number of Ap neurons, as compared with controls.

The excess bristles phenotype caused by expression of TomScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 post-embryonically (animals are transferred to 28[o]C after embryogenesis to inactivate Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B which is present in the stock) is suppressed by co-expression of α4GT1GS2078.
