scutum & microchaeta | medial, with Scer\GAL4sca-537.4
Expression of caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long leads to morphological defects in the eye.
Misexpression of caupScer\UAS.cdCa, driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, in the ventral half of the eye allows the ectopic formation of dorsal rim ommatidia at the ventral extreme.
Clones in the ventral region of the eye expressing caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI reorganise dorsoventral polarity and promoter formation of ectopic eye fields at a low frequency. Dorsally situated clones expressing caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI induce ectopic eyes at a low frequency.
When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH, the eye is very much reduced, and shows duplication of dorsal bristles.
The medial macrochaetae of the notum have wild-type contralateral axonal branches in flies expressing caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4. In contrast, the medial microchaetae of the notum lack all contralateral axonal branches in approximately 80% of these flies.
Scer\GAL4GMR.long, araUAS.cGa, caupUAS.cdCa has visible phenotype
Scer\GAL4ey.PH, caupUAS.cdCa has eye phenotype, suppressible | partially by Nint.SH.UAS, Scer\GAL4ey.PH
Scer\GAL4GMR.long, araUAS.cGa, caupUAS.cdCa has eye phenotype
Nint.SH.UAS, Scer\GAL4ey.PH, caupUAS.cdCa has ommatidium phenotype
Co-expression of araScer\UAS.cGa and caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long produces eye defects that are more severe than when either transgene is expressed alone.
The eye-size effect in flies expressing caupScer\UAS.cdCa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH can be partially rescued by simultaneous expression of Nint.SH.Scer\UAS, though ommatidia are abnormally arranged.
