Description

UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 3.3kb Mmus\Numb cDNA. Xenopus β-globin 5' UTR sequences sequence encoding a Tag:MYC epitope are added at the N-terminal end of the cDNA sequence. The encoded protein is predicted to have an additional 44 amino acid residues, MEEKLISEEDLEDGTRVKLRNLSKVTQLVKGTAKIQSQVVKVN, at the N-terminal end.

      Expression of Mmus\NumbScer\UAS.cZa in the SOP lineage, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 causes balding of the notum due to transformation of IIA daughter into a second IIB and subsequent transformation of IIIb's sheath daughter into another neuron, resulting in mutant external sensory organs with as many as four neurons.
