Expression of mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC, under the control of Scer\GAL4sca-537.4, induces mild bristle tufting on the head. Third instar wing imaginal discs of this genotype show ectopic L3 sensory precursors. Flies that express mib1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 have vestigial wings that completely lack a wing margin; the remaining wing tissue present is composed mostly of severely thickened wing veins. In flies that express mib1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 the wing displays an extremely thickened L3 vein and a vast surplus of campaniform sensilla. Wings show a large gap in the wing margin. Expression of mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC inhibits eye disc growth.

Co-misexpression of mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC with DlScer\UAS.cDa along the anteroposterior compartment boundary of the wing disc using Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 completely suppresses the ectopic margin or disc overgrowth seen with DlScer\UAS.cDa expression alone. The expression of DlScer\UAS.cDa is unable to rescue the loss of endogenous wing margin induced by mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC. The wing phenotype caused by SerScer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 is completely suppressed by mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC coexpression. Expression of neurScer\UAS.cLa partially rescues the wing phenotype of flies that express mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1. This phenotype is almost completely suppressed when both mib1Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC and two copies of neurScer\UAS.cLa are expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 alongside mib1ΔRF.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\His6,T:Hsap\MYC.
