It is not known whether or not the reading frame of the neighbouring ATPsyn-d gene is affected in the "cdiS59" mutant chromosome, thus it is unclear whether the lethality of the "cdiS59" mutant chromosome is due to an affect on cdi or ATPsyn-d. Mutant embryos do not have obvious CNS defects.
