Description

UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a hybrid gene consisting of N in which the furin-dependent cleavage region (amino acids 1593-1744) has been replaced with the corresponding region of Mmus\Notch1 (amino acids 1562-1725). The hybrid protein is also tagged with Ecol\lexA sequence.

Expression of N::Mmus\Notch1Nmf.Scer\UAS.T:Ecol\lexA under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 in a wild-type background results in slight hypertophy of the nervous system in embryos; for example, 2-3 extra cells are found in the dorsal clusters of the peripheral nervous system.
