Incorrect excision of P{UAS-ve.B} produced P{UAS-Rho.Neo.Δ}, which has a 5kb deletion removing parts of both the rho cDNA and the adjacent w+mC gene. It is predicted to encode a truncated protein containing the first 140 amino acids of rho and 10 amino acids encoded out-of-frame by the 3' end of w, which are fused to the rho coding sequence.
rhoNeo.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 flies have small blistered wings with thickened veins and margin defects. In extreme cases, wings are virtually absent. rhoNeo.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4vg.int2.1 flies exhibit wing notching (patchy loss of margin and adjacent wing tissue).
Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, rhoNeo.UAS has wing margin phenotype, suppressible by NAx-1/N[+]
Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, rhoNeo.UAS has wing vein phenotype, suppressible by NAx-1/N[+]
Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096, rhoNeo.UAS has wing phenotype, suppressible by NAx-1/N[+]
All wing phenotypes of rhoNeo.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 flies are strongly suppressed by NAx-1/+.
