Mutant embryos show defects in the tracheal system; in stage 14 mutant embryos, the dorsal trunk lumens are discontinuous at 21.0% of anastomosis sites, in contrast to control embryos, where the dorsal trunk lumens are continuous at this stage. Even at stage 16, many of the anastomosis sites in the trachea remain unconnected in the mutant embryos.
