Description

Rescue fragment composed of genomic and cDNA sequences that contains Poxn upstream sequences and Poxn 5' leader, coding and 3' trailer sequences. Some Poxn intron sequences are also present. The Poxn upstream sequences contain a deletion of some sequence.

      Comments

      The defects in taste bristles on the labellum seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 flies are not rescued by PoxnΔKX, but the defects in taste bristles on the leg and anterior wing margin are rescued. The leg and antenna segmentation defects seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 flies are not rescued by PoxnΔKX. The defects in the posterior lobe and penis seen in PoxnΔM22-B5 males are rescued by PoxnΔKX and male fertility is partially rescued. PoxnΔKX does not rescue the flying capability of PoxnΔM22-B5 flies. PoxnΔKX rescues the courting defects (in both daylight and red light conditions) of PoxnΔM22-B5 males.
