spindle pole centrosome & astral microtubule, with Scer\GAL4sca-P309
100% of G-iα65AScer\UAS.cCa; Scer\GAL4sca-P309 embryos divide to produce equal sized daughters. In these equal size divisions, spindle geometry and placements are both symmetric.
Overexpression of G-iα65AScer\UAS.cCa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4sca-P309 can lead to the uniform cortical localisation of all apical components, and the loss of Gβ13F, along with the production of prominent astral microtubules over both centrosomes. This symmetric astral microtubule association with both centrosomes is similar to the astral microtubules structure seen in dividing epithelial cells. Expression of G-iα65AScer\UAS.cCa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16, results in equal size division occurring in 83% of neuroblasts.

GαiUAS.cCa, Scer\GAL4sca-P309 has neuroblast phenotype, suppressible | maternal effect | partially by pinsP89
GαiUAS.cCa, Scer\GAL4sca-P309 has spindle pole centrosome phenotype, suppressible by pinsunspecified
A low level of symmetric neuroblast divisions occur in embryos maternally and zygotically homozygous for rapsP89, expressing G-iα65AScer\UAS.cCa driven by Scer\GAL4sca-P309. The number of asymmetric divisions is dramatically higher in otherwise genetically identical embryos, zygotically heterozygous for rapsP89.
Expression of G-iα65AScer\UAS.cCa, under the regulation of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 in a rapsunspecified background results in equal size division occurring in 62% of neuroblasts.
