Expression of lacZ is under the control of residues 1-713 from the Dll enhancer in Ecol\lacZDll.304 in which the adjacent Hox and exd binding sites have been mutated from AAATTAAATCA to CCATAA-ATCA (this change is known to cause an increase in UBX/EXD/HTH complex binding affinity.)
