Pupae with whole-eye CCT4^KG09280/CCT4^KG09280 somatic clones are headless, while adult escapers have significantly reduced eyes. Both homozygous somatic clones and heterozygous neighbouring tissue display increased cell death in the anterior (but not posterior) compartment of the eye disc and in the antennal disc of third instar larvae.
