c625c625 virgin females show elevated ovulation; 46% of the virgin females show ovulation (compared to 0% of virgin Oregon-R females). The flies show no obvious defects in viability, fertility, morphology or locomotor activity. The courtship index observed when c625c625 virgin females are mated to wild-type males is lower than that seen when wild-type virgin females are mated to wild-type males, but is higher than that seen when wild-type mated females are mated to wild-type males. c625c625 mutant virgin females show ovipositor extrusion towards courting wild-type males (this extrusion behaviour is normally observed in mated wild-type females but not in virgin wild-type females).
