Homozygous males show severely reduced fertility. ordys91/ord1 males show 26.2% non-disjunction between the X and Y chromosomes. Homozygous XY males show a high frequency of non-disjunction of the sex chromosomes (36.9%) and fourth chromosomes (68.0%). ordys91/Df(2R)bw-S46 XY males show a high frequency of non-disjunction of the sex chromosomes (37.4%) and fourth chromosomes (64.6%). Precocious separation of sister chromatids is seen for all chromosomes in the primary spermatocytes of homozygous males. Homozygous females mated to wild-type males lay a large number of eggs which are morphologically normal, but only about 5% of the eggs hatch and only 57.7% of the eggs develop beyond the syncytial blastoderm stage. X chromosome nondisjunction in homozygous females is about 40.0%.
