Detailed Description

Brains of third instar mutant larvae exhibit a wild-type mitotic index. Homozygous mutants females have defective ovaries that have fewer ovarioles and degenerated egg chambers. Typically the egg chambers degenerate at stage 7-10 of oogenesis, although in some ovaries one or two eggs may reach maturity, but they are never released from the ovaries.

Lethal phase is from the pharate adult stage onwards.
