The single flanking sequence (GenBank CZ481614) for PBac{RB}e03862 has two segments that align on opposite strands 263 kb apart. The sequence is high quality and the alignments are unambiguous. A segment of 43 bp, which abuts the piggyBac 5prime end (positions 130-172 of the GenBank sequence), maps to X-3C2 release 5 position 2751110. The other segment (positions 3-130 of the GenBank sequence) maps to X-3C7 release 5 position 3014490 in the kirre gene. It is unclear whether the mapping of this sequence to two different sites results from an inverse PCR artifact or reflects a chromosomal rearrangement in proximity to the insertion.
