Dh31-Rf05546/Df(2R)BSC273 transheterozygotes kept under 12h;12h light:dark cycles show an abnormal temperature preference profile, namely a relatively high and constant temperature preference (~27[o]C) during daytime and nighttime (~26[0]C), as compared to the dynamic temperature preferences of wild-type and heterozygous controls. These mutants, however, do not show major significant changes in circadian behavior (i.e. proportion of rhythmicity, circadian period and morning activity anticipation index), as compared to wild-type and heterozygous controls. (Dh31-Rf05546/Df(2R)BSC273 transheterozygotes do show a small but significant decrease in morning activity anticipation index as compared to Df(2R)BSC273 heterozygotes.)
Mutant third instar larvae are capable of synaptic homeostasis at the neuromuscular junction, as indicated by an increase in quantal content in the presence of the glutamate receptor antagonist philanthotoxin-433 (10μM).
